DIAMOND COLOURS

When selecting a diamond, one of the major factors to consider is the stone's color because it is probably the first thing people notice. The finest and most expensive diamonds are absolutely colorless. Diamonds are graded on a color scale established by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), which ranges from D (colorless) to Z. Each letter after D indicates increasing amounts of yellowish/browning tint to the stone. The differences from one grade to the next can be very subtle. Diamonds graded D or E are becoming increasingly rare and command a significant premium.

One of the major factors in the popularity of the Lannyte Simulated Diamond is its color. On the GIA scale, The Lannyte Simulated Diamond would rate as a D or E color, equivalent to the finest and rarest diamonds. For those seeking an off-white color (not colorless) we produce a Cape color, which falls into the G, H or I range.
